Sequential Investors and Housing 21 have teamed up to bring forward the development of a bespoke independent living facility on 212 Yarmouth Road, Norwich. The development will bring much needed homes for older people of modest means, regenerate a now derelict site and bring significant investment and employment to the local economy.

Following our public consultation in April 2021, where we engaged with residents of Thorpe St Andrew and the wider local community, we have now submitted a detailed planning application to Broadland District Council. This can be viewed here and entering the application number – 20211741, when prompted.

The scheme comprises a mixture of 87 extra care apartments and includes extensive communal and shared spaces. The proposals also fulfil an important strategic need for Extra Care beds identified by both the County Council and the District itself.

Since Broadland Council have already consented planning permission to demolish the current building, these proposals present an opportunity to bring the site back into beneficial use.
